We're at my in-laws house, about to escape for the night! We'll all sleep here, but after we put her to bed, we're heading to the drive-in! Can you tell I'm excited? And guess what we're seeing? Despicable Me and Inception :) Hooray! Let's hope I can stay awake through five hours of movie and hope I don't regret staying out until 1:00 am in the morning... Oh well, we're making memories here right? Plus we're seeing two movies for twenty bucks. So that's awesome. And we have a pathfinder, so we just push down the backseat, lay out some pillows and blankets and voila! we're watching movies in bed outside. It's sort of like camping, right? Let the canoodling commence! Because the best kinds of dates are the ones you can canoodle on. Does anyone else think the word canoodle is hysterical? No? Just me? That's alright. Let's hope we don't run the battery out (ok so that wasn't technically correct at all...)
Any awesome drive in memories to share? I know they're out there :)

Always Kiss Me Goodnight
"In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,and do not give the devil a foothold."
~Ephesians 4:26-27 NIV
On our honeymoon, Adam and I decided to splurge a little and bought ourselves two presents for our new apartment. The first present was a mirror stand. Very pretty and practical, we still have it and love it. However, the second present we bought was a little bit more meaningful. We bought a sign very similar to the one pictured below with the same phrase because it reminded us of that verse in Ephesians. I know that this sign is everywhere now and you might be sick of seeing it, but I fell in love with the sentiment.
That is after all, one of the highest goals I have for our marriage, to never go to sleep angry at the other person. Unfortunately, that is not always the case. There have been a few times that I have gone to sleep still angry over something Adam did or didn't do, and it really sucks. Those are the worse nights. We are both very stubborn people and it really shows when we argue. Neither of us are necessarily quick to apologize. Adam's temper tends to flare up and burn out while mine is slow burning. As a result, he wants to talk it all over right away and fix it, while I want to go analyze why I'm really angry, cry about it, and then talk after I've figured out what I really want to say. We don't fight very often, thank goodness, but every couple fights once in a while! If you don't, then I'm convinced that you must not ever talk to each other, because it's impossible to live with someone day in and day out and not encounter things that really annoy you! But I am proud to say that there have only been one or two nights over the last three years that we have not managed to at least kiss and say "I love you" to each other before going to bed. (I'm not counting the times that we have been physically apart from each other) And sometimes despite the kiss I still go to bed feeling a little annoyed, but there is something magical about even the act of kissing your spouse that takes the edge off the anger. It is almost impossible to be really really angry at someone that you've just kissed. And there is also a certain safety to it. I know that no matter how angry we are with each other, there is still love and that is not going away. And that is why this sign has hung in our bedroom in each of our three apartments, and will always be featured prominently in any future bedrooms!
Give me a kisse and to that kiss a score;
Then to that twenty, add a hundred more;
A thousand to that hundred; so kiss on,
To make that thousand up a million;
Treble that million, and when that is done,
Let's kiss afresh, as when we first begun.
~Robert Herrick
Oh, and these kisses never hurt either! ;)
Love you Adam!

How we spent our third anniversary
It was a wonderful evening full of giggles and splashing! Although it definitely was not the classiest dinner ever. We were going to grill steak and make some yummy sides, but it turned out to be like 100 degrees and disgustingly humid! Way to hot to make Adam stand over the grill. So we decided that we would just have life cereal for dinner and drag out the kiddie pool to dip our feet into. I don't think I have ever felt more like white trash in my entire life. I suggested that Adam might want to have a beer with that cereal to complete the picture, but we didn't have any and it was too hot to move go get some. But I actually think this was my favorite anniversary so far! I suspect it had something to do with a certain little peanut's belly laugh and super awesome dance moves.
Don't worry we did celebrate our anniversary properly last weekend with two nights sans peanut, which was wonderful. We went into Boston and had a leisurely two hour dinner at Fire n Ice (love love that place, not sure why!), then proceeded to walk all around Boston enjoying each other's company. At one point we just laid out on the grass for a bit just doing nothing. It's been a long time since I've just laid on the grass and relaxed. It's nice. I miss it. Then Saturday morning we went to see Iron Man 2 (which was actually surprisingly enjoyable) and then spent the afternoon at this pretty oceanside park in Manchester. In the evening we had a Border's date (hot drinks + books = heaven) and Sunday morning we went grocery shopping. It was perfect. Although, I have to admit, I missed my baby girl quite a bit come Sunday morning and was super excited to see her! She did super well at Grandma and Grandpa's house though and was thoroughly spoiled with a trip to the YMCA, and the Roger Williams Park Zoo. We had a very tired little girl on our hands.
Perfect, perfect.
Happy Three Years Adam!
