The incident...

Daddy left a pen in his Sudoku book in the bathroom earlier this week, and Emma found it. I can never get her to draw me pictures on paper when I ask, but apparently drawing on my furniture is a ton of fun! Luckily it's just cheap Target particleboard furniture I've had since freshman year.

(the masterpiece)

(This is Emma's face when I cofronted her!)
What? Me? Never Mommy!
Alright, alright! I confess! Just get that light
out of my face already!

Meet Bella!

Introducing the newest participant in our crazy little family :) Her name is Bella and she was a birthday gift to me from my wonderful husband. (Nothing quite like a birthday gift that requires I clean up it's poop and feed it on a daily basis!) Just kidding. I've been "hinting" that I would like another cat for quite a long time now.
Bella comes to us from the Vines, where she has spent the last couple of years. They were sad to see her go (except maybe Dan- I don't think he was that sad), but since they recently acquired a small horse (otherwise known as Gracie their "puppy"), Bella has been a little unhappy. So we happily took her off their hands.
And so far she is fitting right in! She sleeps at the foot of our bed, which makes Adam very happy. He's pretty big on "cat's knowing their place" and not sleeping with their butts in his face. And Emma has only acquired a few scratches, which mostly come from trying to kiss Bella without obtaining Bella's permission. NO MEANS NO EMMA! And I get a second shadow around the house and also a babysitter for Emma. Ok, well maybe not that last part. We'll have to see how she does ;)

Pigtails and Jammies

I'm pretty sure this is the cutest combination on the planet. Her hair has been so awkward lately, I'm just glad it is finally long enough to pull off this look!

If only she wouldn't have this reaction... I think with time she'll come around!

The Girliest Christmas Tree Ever!

We found this the other day and had to share it with everyone. My favorite part is the fact that it is the only thing hung on the bottom half of the tree. :)

This morning we decided to take advantage of the winter weather and go play in the snow at Gordon College. It was Emma's first experience with a sled and we were eagerly anticipating shrieks of delight!

Ok so not exactly delight... But at least she didn't hate it! We also picked up Emma's friend Lily (who was gracious enough to let us borrow the sleds!) I think Lily may have had a better time than Emma.

We also ran into a friend who was out helping Gordon out with snow removal. We went to visit Jake too, but I didn't take any pictures.

Here we have an action shot! I especially love how Lily's hair is totally covering her face.

Cold but happy...

All in all, a very fun way to spend an afternoon! And one heck of a workout for me and Adam. We will now commence the laying on the couch eating christmas candy portion of the day.
