This summer we went on vacation with the Roys and Vines for a couple of days in Maine. We had a lot of fun, and as always, it went by way too fast!
It happened that this year, vacation coincided with the start of the Olympics and we decided that we should celebrate this happenstance with some pint-sized Olympic games of our own! Adam was awesome and planned out a bunch of fun games before vacation, set them up and coordinated the whole thing. My one contribution: the donut game (always a good idea)!
Here are the pictures:
To start we, of course, had to have the opening ceremony
The competing nations. Wait, it looks like the U.S. is in distress...
A neighboring nation offers some aid.
Ok, we're good to go now!
Let the games begin! First up we had an obstacle course of sorts...
Styrofoam Tunnel of Terror
Emma and her Mighty Steed
Some jockeys needed some assistance
Next up a water balloon toss!
The champions, poised for battle.
Things escalated quickly and just became a water balloon fight...
Followed quickly by the old "egg on a spoon" race!
And the ever popular "throw a glow-in-the-dark necklace on to a sharp stick" event!
The toss 'n' pick
Same method. Same results.
If at first you don't succeed...
try, try, try again.
Henry actually got one!
Ok, the sticks proved difficult. Let's try a bucket.
... *sigh* moving on.
Finally the best event of all (in my humble opinion)! (these are mostly pictures of Emma as she was making such amusing faces)
